Connecticut's Constitutional 2nd Amendment Rights

Current Problems

As a member of the NRA (National Rifle Association), Kathy is opposed to the individuals and groups in Connecticut that want to increase regulation on firearms. Recently there was a House Bill being proposed that would encroach upon our 2nd Amendment Rights. The bill appears to have died before it could get a public hearing, but Second Amendment supporters should anticipate that more will follow it for consideration.

The burdens being added to the administrative time and costs of carrying out the paperwork for bearing arms are a deliberate attempt by opponents of gun rights to make it so onerous to exercise our 2nd Amendment Rights, that dealers and individual gun owners will give up trying to keep and bear arms for their or their nation's defense.

What Will Kathy Do?

  • Support our 2nd Amendment Right to Bear Arms
  • Oppose proposed bills that aim to regulate and restrict our 2nd Amendment Right to Bear Arms
  • Encourage the judiciary system to focus less on increased regulation and more on consistently and effectively enforcing the current regulations we have on the criminal element of Connecticut
