Managing Connecticut's Energy Costs

Current Problems

  • Connecticut residents pay nearly twice as much for electricity as residents in neighboring states
  • Nuclear power plant restriction - years ago there were 4 plants, now we have only 2
  • Supposedly "clean" alternatives have limited electricity output, forcing inflated prices for inadequate supply
  • People and businesses are fleeing our state due to these inflated costs, thus lowering the tax base!

What will Kathy do?

  • Push for revival of nuclear power
  • Promote clean energy sources that have high output and low cost
  • Work to reduce the state gasoline tax
